Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Grant Writer to join our team in support of a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving maternal and infant health. The ideal candidate will be responsible for writing and managing grant applications, identifying new funding opportunities, and handling administrative tasks related to grant management. This is a contract or part-time role, and the organization is actively interviewing to find the right fit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grant Writing & Management:
- Write, prepare, and submit 20+ high-quality grant applications per month.
- Ensure all grant proposals align with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Manage the end-to-end grant application process, including deadlines, submissions, and follow-ups.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Track, update, and organize grant materials, including deadlines, requirements, and reporting schedules.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of grant opportunities, submissions, and outcomes.
- Proactive Opportunity Identification:
- Dedicate approximately 40% of the role to identifying new grant opportunities.
- Utilize tools such as Grant Station and Google Alerts to source and evaluate potential funding sources.
- Stay informed about trends and opportunities in maternal and infant health funding.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with the organization’s leadership team to align grant applications with strategic priorities.
- Provide regular updates on grant progress and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in grant writing, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
- Strong understanding of the grant application process, including research, writing, and submission.
- Familiarity with tools such as Grant Station and Google Alerts for sourcing grants.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Passion for maternal and infant health or related fields is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations focused on health, maternal care, or infant health.
- Knowledge of grant tracking and management software.
- Ability to analyze data and outcomes to strengthen grant applications.
